We are delighted to announce the achievement of Elsa, a sixth form student at Mougins School, who has attained the highest mark in France for IGCSE English in the Pearson exams. Elsa's outstanding performance in the rigorous examinations has earned her the esteemed Outstanding Pearson Learner Award.

This remarkable accomplishment places Elsa on the global stage, showcasing academic excellence at the highest levels. The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (OPLAs) celebrate learners who achieve the highest marks in their respective countries, regions, and worldwide. Despite English not being her mother tongue, Elsa’s exceptional aptitude has earned her the top spot in France for IGCSE English Language, a truly inspiring achievement.

What an achievement!  Elsa sat her Pearson Edexcel IGCSE English Language A exams in May and June  2024 - and obtained the highest marks of any student in France. Mr Rob Jamieson, Pearson's Regional Development Manager visited MBIS to present Elsa with a well-deserved medal and a certificate, in the presence of her very proud family, Mr Michael,our Head of Secondary, and an extremely proud Ms Lecoy, representing the English Department. Elsa's accomplishment is all the more impressive as English is not her mother tongue - everyone at home speaks French!

The Outstanding Pearson Learner Award is a prestigious distinction granted to students who shine among thousands of candidates worldwide. Elsa now joins an elite group of 2,600 learners from 700 schools across 82 countries who are eligible for this honor, further emphasizing the magnitude of her success.

Elsa’s achievement is not only a reflection of her individual brilliance but also a testament to the collective efforts of the Mougins School community. It underscores our commitment to empowering students to reach their full potential and achieve remarkable milestones.
