First Aid Training at Mougins School: Empowering Our Staff for a Safer Future
Julie Dufaye
At Mougins British International School, we always strive to create a safe and secure environment for all our students. In line with this commitment, we are excited to announce that our dedicated school nurse, Alison Vibert, has organized two twilight sessions of First Aid training for our staff. These sessions are designed to equip our team with essential life-saving skills, ensuring that we can provide the best care in any emergency situation.
Training Highlights
During these hands-on sessions, participants gained essential first aid skills, including basic life support, the use of AEDs for adults, children, and infants, as well as techniques for controlling bleeding. The course also covered the management of fractures, dislocations, sudden illnesses, anaphylaxis, and more. Alison structured the training to be both practical and engaging, ensuring that staff feel confident and prepared to handle emergencies with clarity and composure.
Completion and Certification
We’re excited to announce that all our teachers have completed their training and passed the associated tests, ensuring they are fully prepared to handle any first aid situation—whether in class, on the playground, or during trips. Ten staff members have earned their First Aid Plus Level 3 (VTQ) certification, an internationally recognized qualification valid for three years, offering more in-depth training than the French PSC1.
A huge thank you to Ally for delivering such an excellent course and to the staff who took part in this valuable training. Another session is scheduled for April 26th for additional staff and Sixth Form students, with further sessions planned for June. We’ll share more details soon!
A Stronger, Safer Community
By offering this crucial First Aid training, Alison Vibert and our entire team have reinforced our commitment to providing a nurturing and safe learning environment. We hope that these efforts further demonstrate the importance we place on the well-being of our students and staff. Thank you, Alison, for organizing this training and empowering our team with the skills needed to respond confidently to any emergency.
We’re excited about the future and look forward to more opportunities like this to keep our community safe and strong!
