Graduation Day 2025: A Celebration of Growth, Gratitude and Greatness
Julie Dufaye
On a radiant summer day in the heart of Mougins, Mougins School proudly came alive to celebrate the Class of 2025 — a remarkable group of 46 students whose outstanding achievements, growth, and dedication have shaped the very spirit of our school.
This year’s graduation was not just about diplomas. It was a tribute to hard work, character, community, and the unwavering support of a dedicated staff led by an exceptional Sixth Form team. It was a day to honour not only academic success but also personal journeys, friendships forged, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Honouring Excellence
Among the stand-out moments of the ceremony were the prestigious subject and community prizes awarded to students whose performances truly shone:
- Boudewijn (6A), with a flawless exam paper in Business, took home the subject prize and was also selected as Mougins School’s nominee for the Globeducate Roll of Honour, recognising his incredible dedication as Deputy Head Boy.
- Nicklas (6B), a multi-talented media student and The Voice Denmark alumnus, received the Media Prize for his mastery of debate and creative innovation.
- Scarlett (6B) earned the Spanish Prize for her remarkable progress, while Arev (6B) was awarded the French Prize for her academic excellence.
- Cameron (6C)’s consistent curiosity earned him the Geography Prize, and Ainsley (6C)’s quiet focus in the studio won her the Art Prize.
- Eveline (6C)—who also co-led the graduation speech—was recognised for her excellence in Biology.
- Juliette (6D) stood out for her grit and earned the Psychology Prize.
- Sébastian (6D), who was also named Bob Lagarde 2025, claimed the Sport Prize for his commitment and athleticism.

- Emily (6E) walked away with two prizes: Chemistry and Physics, for her motivation, effort, and brilliance.
- Axel (6E) was honoured with the Mathematics Prize, and was also named Athletics Champion 2025, showing how academic and athletic talent can go hand in hand.
- Johan (6B), who was named Sportsman 2025, a well-earned title for a quiet leader with immense perseverance.
Echoes of Inspiration: Raphaël and Eveline’s Graduation Speech
Raphaël and Eveline, the Head Boy and Head Girl, delivered a heartfelt graduation speech.
Eveline, echoing the sentiment, shared how Mougins was not only a place of academic challenge but of profound personal growth. "Despite the turning points and the late nights, they all pale in comparison to the countless invaluable lessons I’ve learned," she said with gratitude and wit.
Both speakers extended sincere thanks to the teachers and staff, recognising the relentless passion, humour, and dedication poured into every lesson, trip, and tutorial. From Amsterdam adventures to emotional EPQ sessions, from broken lab thermometers to the daily joy of form time, they honoured the people who made their education so impactful.
Special thanks were given to:
Teachers like Miss Achilli, Mr Jones, Mr Michael, and Mr Hallet, whose enthusiasm transformed lessons into lifelong memories.
The form tutors—Ms Glyde, Mr Heath, Ms Parsons, and others—who showed up every day with unwavering support.
The Sixth Form leadership team, especially Ms Feehan, whose tireless involvement and dedication were felt in every assembly, event, and university application.
The maintenance staff, PTA, and canteen crew—often unsung heroes who make the school environment safe, nourishing, and full of joy.
Ms. Feehan’s Sixth Form Spotlight
No Sixth Form ceremony would be complete without the witty and heartfelt remarks from Ms Danielle Feehan, Head of Sixth Form. Her introduction of 6B was a masterclass in warmth and wit.
“B for brilliant, B for bombastic, and B for barely making it to registration,” she joked, before lovingly listing the unique talents and future paths of her students—from future engineers and DJs to fashion designers and business leaders.
She spoke of Charles, who once slid down a bannister during a fire drill, Nicklas, our media prize-winner and resident celebrity, and Scarlett, whose future in fashion already shines bright.
She highlighted Arev’s quiet power, Johan’s perseverance, David’s creativity, and Zak’s relaxed charm—even if he did show up to an exam in slippers.
Every student was remembered not just for their grades, but for their character, a reflection of Mougins School’s holistic and student-centred approach.
More Than a School
Graduation Day reminded us that Mougins School is more than a school. It is a place where students are seen, heard, and celebrated—for their achievements, yes, but also for their personalities, their growth, and their resilience.
It is a place where a head of Sixth Form can make jokes about slippers, where a prefect can be applauded for a fire drill prank, and where students genuinely thank the canteen staff in a valedictory speech. Where the line between teacher and mentor often blurs, and where community isn’t a buzzword, it’s a feeling you carry with you.
As Raphaël so perfectly put it:
“It doesn’t feel like we need one more day, one more lesson, or any more revision. We’ve finished. We were Year 13s this year. Yet now, we become who we choose to be.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2025. Your time at Mougins School may be over—but your journey is just beginning.
