Each day is carefully designed to balance structured learning with exploration, ensuring that our young learners thrive in a supportive and stimulating atmosphere.

 

A Morning Full of Discovery and Fun

The day begins with a "Good Morning Song", a cheerful and interactive start that sets a positive tone for the day. During this activity, children learn basic sign language (Langue des Signes), helping them develop communication skills beyond words. They also express their emotions, learning to identify and articulate how they feel, and review the days of the week, reinforcing their understanding of time and routine.

 

Music and Rhymes with Valentina Deidda

In the morning, the children had a wonderful music session with Valentina Deidda. They explored the beauty of language through reciting rhyming poems and expressing themselves with rhythm and melody. To end on a high note, they sang together, filling the room with joyful voices and fostering their love for music and creative expression. A fantastic way to enhance their linguistic and musical skills while having fun!

Building Literacy Skills

Next comes an exciting phonics session! The older children focus on recognizing letters and their sounds, an essential step in their reading journey. They take turns writing words on the board and reading them aloud, building both confidence and literacy skills. These early steps in phonics lay the foundation for future reading and writing success.

 

Lunch Time 

After a busy morning of learning and exploration, the children enjoyed a hearty and nutritious lunch. On the menu was a comforting Boeuf Bourguignon with Polenta, providing them with a balanced meal rich in protein and energy. For dessert, they savored fresh fruit and a dairy product, ensuring they received essential vitamins and nutrients to fuel their afternoon activities. A perfect way to recharge and continue their day with enthusiasm!

 

Practicing Writing Names

With growing enthusiasm, the students move on to a hands-on writing activity. Using laminated sheets, they practice writing their names, erasing and trying again until they feel comfortable with their letter formation. This activity not only reinforces fine motor skills but also encourages perseverance and self-improvement in a fun and interactive way.

Play, Exploration, and Creativity

After their structured learning time, it's time for free play and exploration! This week, the children delved into the fascinating world of worms. They explored the role of worms in nature, discovering how these tiny creatures help aerate the soil and support plant growth. Through hands-on activities, they observed worms up close, created worm habitats, and even experimented with how worms move through different types of soil. These activities not only stimulated their curiosity but also helped them develop an appreciation for nature and its smallest inhabitants. Learning through play has never been so wiggly and fun!
