On top of its prestigious academic education, our private school offers students the ability to learn skills outside of the curriculum. Mougins School allows for deep connections within each year group and form; as students bond over shared classroom experiences, they form strong relationships that not only assist them during their time at school but are also bonds they can maintain well after their time at Mougins School.
There is no one better to recount the positive memories and foundational skills that can be found at Mougins British International School than our own graduating class of 2026.
 

Out of all the students interviewed, they continued to reiterate how much they learn not only in the classroom but also through the atmosphere and community within the school. Lilia is a current Year 13 student who joined at the beginning of this academic year and intends to move on to study law. Despite how recently she joined the school, Lilia provided much insight into how our students learn and grow through everyday interactions and the navigation of Sixth Form life. A significant role as Sixth Formers that promotes the development of applicable organisational and communicative skills is the leadership roles available. As Lilia puts it, “having the privilege to serve as the Student Voice Prefect has allowed me to engage with people across the school community, which has allowed me to effectively carry myself in a way suitable to different audiences.” Many of our Year 13s elected to take on a leadership role ranging from House Captain to Events Prefect; all of these roles are designed to utilise the strengths of our students in order to serve our community while providing an outlet for their creativity and innovation. Furthermore, not only do the staff create such a welcoming environment but the student body’s diversity also support students in recognising the cultural diversity of our world and being able to accommodate to people with all kinds of background and circumstances. Lilia particularly finds the diversity to be helpful in her path in law to be able to accommodate her future clients and colleagues. In her words “the rich, dynamic and diverse population at Mougins has inspired me to conscientiously make an effort to understand and connect with others who are very different to me”.

Another Year 13 student who shared their experience was Andrea, who is going on to study law in the UK after graduation. Andrea has been attending Mougins School since primary school and, as she reflects on her experience, feels proud to be a part of this school’s community for so long. Having gone through nearly all stages at Mougins, Andrea acknowledges how much students learn from everyday interactions throughout both primary and secondary school. She recognises that her schooling has not been without its challenges, but all of the roadblocks and setbacks have only encouraged her to gain greater resilience in her education. Andrea specifically reflected on the transition from GCSE to A Level as being particularly challenging but all the more developmental: “The jump from IGCSE to A Level taught me the importance of establishing a steady routine that would allow me to study a sufficient amount to achieve my goals while also preventing myself from burning out, something which was never an issue for me at IGCSE due to the significantly lighter workload.” Through Andrea’s experience, we can understand how changes in learning styles and information delivery significantly assist students’ ability to build resilience and independence in their academics.

Out of all the students asked about their time at Mougins, most mentioned that they feel nervous to leave the school as they have established routines, familiarity with the system and, more importantly, the nurturing community. As Andrea puts it “our school has always strived to maintain that unique community spirit that has always made me proud to be a part of our family here at Mougins”. Yet, the majority of students do report that they still feel excited and prepared to move towards higher education or the workforce, largely due to the experiences and skills gained throughout their time at Mougins School. 

No matter what results day may bring, it is incredibly important for all students, especially Year 13s, to recognise all that they have learned and achieved during their time at Mougins British International School, both inside the classroom and within our welcoming community. As our Year 13s prepare to take their next steps beyond Mougins, it is clear that they leave not only with qualifications, but with social, organisational, and communicative skills, as well as fond memories, that will stay with them long after graduation.
