Looking Forward: from strength to strength
Paul Michael

It is customary to end the calendar year with celebratory nostalgia about the weeks and months we have behind us. And in fairness, this is always such a lovely endeavour.

Our students have once more done themselves, their families, and our whole school community incredibly proud indeed.

Our Year 13 graduate, Gabrio, received an award from the prestigious Pearson exam board for being the best French A-level student in the world!

That surely lasting memory, sight, and sound of our choristers and musicians welcoming in this wonderful time of year with such grace and beauty in the chapel at Valbonne.

Our sports stars, lighting up the courts, fields and tracks time and time again against regional opposition, against their peers, and importantly, against themselves.

Since September, all of these highlights, and so many more besides, could fill up a thousand newsletters.

But let's also look forward. Let's be excited.

Let's consider the tremendous initiatives and projects about to be rolled out across the school that have been made possible by the incredible generosity of our parents who contribute to the parent voluntary fund.

Share with me my enthusiasm for our new Exam Centre where our students will be able to write their exams in a better bespoke space and place, helping them to be able to more securely recall and retrieve their knowledge, skills and understanding from the year that's behind them.

And let's be united around our Eco School student leaders, who tirelessly work for our community, its consciousness, and of course our planet.

The new year, when it comes, will bring a cavalcade of opportunities, possibilities and challenges, all to be equally relished.

So, this winter break, whether secular or spiritual, we can continue to keep faith with the students, staff and parents of our terrific school as we go from strength to strength.
