A Unified Front: School, Family, and Gendarmerie Partnering for Our Children's Safety
Sarah Michael

The safety, awareness, and wellbeing of our students is a shared responsibility - one that requires a unified partnership between the school, the family, and our local law enforcement experts.

Last year, we announced our collaboration with Major Murer and Adjudante Abdelli and their team at the Mougins Gendarmerie. We are thrilled to confirm the launch of this critical partnership with a series of engaging and educational talks for all our students, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to navigate today’s complex world.

By bringing the Gendarmerie’s professional expertise directly into our school, we are actively strengthening the protective network around our children. This is a commitment to not just educating our students academically, but also empowering them to make safe, informed, and responsible choices throughout their lives.

Our Collaborative Workshop Series

These sessions, led by the Gendarmerie and other youth safety professionals, are carefully tailored to address the most relevant challenges for each age group:

Age Group

Key Workshop Topics

Ages 6–8

Road safety awareness (including a road track activity) and essential discussions on school bullying.

Ages 9–12

In-depth focus on school bullying and the crucial topic of social networks and their associated dangers.

Ages 13–15

Tackling serious issues: harassment, social networks, violence, sexism, and substance abuse.

Ages 16+

Comprehensive awareness sessions on harassment, social networks, violence, sexism, road safety, racism, homophobia, and drug risks.

To ensure every student’s voice is heard, we will be sharing a Google Form closer to the session dates. This allows all students to anonymously submit any questions they may have—either on these specific topics or any other area of interest—which will then be addressed during the talks.

Connect Directly with the Gendarmerie

We believe that open communication between parents and the Gendarmerie is invaluable. We warmly invite you to join us for Coffee with the Director on Friday, November 28th, where Adjudante Abdelli and Major Murer will be present.

This is a unique and excellent opportunity to meet our partners face-to-face and ask specific questions about any of the safety issues affecting our children and the wider community. Please add this date to your diary now!

In the meantime, Major Murer and Adjudante Abdelli have kindly offered to share their professional email addresses below should you have any immediate, specific questions:

  • Adjudante Abdelli: samia.abdelli@gendarmerie.interieur.gouv.fr
  • Major Murer: philippe.murer@gendarmerie.interieur.gouv.fr

Together, we are a stronger community dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment for every child. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this ongoing collaboration will have on our students’ confidence and care.
