Fausto Maccario, drum teacher at Mougins School

Fausto Maccario began studying Classical Percussion at age 6 and Jazz Drum Set at age 14 at the Jazz Conservatory in Monaco. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Contemporary Writing and Production from Berklee College of Music in 2013, where he studied with renowned drummers like Kenwood Dennard, Tony “Thunder” Smith, and Neal Smith. Fausto is an accomplished drummer in both the United States and Europe, as well as a Composer, Arranger, and Producer. His work spans from scoring short films showcased at the Cannes Film Festival to arranging and directing Big Bands and Orchestras in recording studios. He also produces music for independent and major artists in France, the United States, and Denmark.

As an educator, Fausto emphasizes technique and helps students develop their unique drumset vocabulary. He also focuses on teaching students the drummer's role in live and studio settings, preparing them for professional careers in the music industry.

“I like to constantly challenge my students and pull the best out of them. To me it is essential that every musician understands the vocabulary and the history of the music one listens to. I expect musicians to acknowledge and carry the tradition they conform to while gaining enough maturity in their learning process to find their own way of expression. Being a great drummer is one thing, but being able to deeply understand the music, the historical context, as well as the music industry is what makes the difference in the professional world.”

VOcal music instructor VOnny marshall-edwards

Vonny Marshall-Edwards is a trained actress and singer, graduating after three years from the renowned Guildford School of Acting (many moons ago!) with the First Prize Award of her year. Before coming to France in 1989 for a singing contract, Vonny worked as an actress in film, TV and theatre in the UK. Happily, Vonny settled in France and has been a vocal coach (and occasional actress!) all this time, and was closely involved with the professional English-speaking theatre company, The Red Pear, for several years.  Vonny is currently working as a vocal coach, theatre teacher and is herself a singer. Her students are numerous, and Vonny has had several who have participated in the French The Voice and The Voice Kids over the past seven years. In 2020, her student, Ema reached the final of the Voice Kids. Another of her students, who himself studied music at the Mougins School, Max Cinnamon, was in the final of the French Eurovision Selection TV programme with his own song. Vonny regularly holds workshops and master classes (including at the Mougins School in the past) and is also a judge for the much-respected Passion Chant Côte d’Azur Singing Contest, in Nice, for several years now. Vonny’s approach to singing is fun and pedagogical, very linked to theatre (after all a singer is simply an actor who sings!) but with solid vocal, breathing and stage and expression techniques and disciplines to bring out and improve the voices of her students. Her work also aims to improve confidence and well-being, particularly in young people.
