Embracing Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health Awareness Week is an essential time for us to focus on the well-being of our students. At Mougins School, we understand the importance of nurturing both the mind and body, ensuring that our students grow up to be well-rounded individuals. This week, the PTA and staff have organised a range of activities designed to promote self-discovery and mental wellness.

Exciting School Trips and On-Campus Activities

Mental Health Awareness Week The Journey of Self-Discovery

Our students are embarking on different journeys, both physically and mentally. Some will go on exciting school trips to Biarritz, Barcelona, and Bristol, where they will engage in activities designed to explore their talents, move outside their comfort zones, and fulfil their life aspirations. For those staying on campus, we've planned a series of activities that include yoga classes, a school picnic, and collaborative art projects. These activities offer a peaceful way to start the day, encouraging mindfulness and relaxation. The yoga sessions are designed to help students connect with their inner selves, promoting a healthy balance between academics and personal well-being. The school picnic provides an opportunity for social interaction and community building, while the collaborative art projects encourage creativity and teamwork, allowing students to express themselves and strengthen their interpersonal skills.

Symbols of Awareness: Mental Health Week Ribbons

To symbolise our commitment to Mental Health Awareness Week, students can wear green bracelets. These bracelets serve as a reminder of the importance of mental health and the journey we all undertake to better understand ourselves. Additionally, this Friday, the PTA will be offering healthy snacks in place of our traditional Hot Chocolate Friday.

The Globeducate Mission and Our Commitment

As part of the Globeducate network, Mougins School is dedicated to upholding rigorous academic standards while providing enriching experiences outside of the classroom. Our aim is to cultivate the character of every student through activities that challenge them and create a safe, secure learning environment. Globeducate's Global Agenda helps bring this vision to life, supported by partnerships with internationally recognised change-makers, enabling us to address the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Developing Lifelong Skills and Connections

The Journey is our school trip programme aimed at fostering adventure, curiosity, and the development of essential skills beyond the classroom. Our Primary Year 5 and Year 6 students embark on a 5-day journey to Barcelona, filled with diverse experiences. They will explore the Gothic Quarter, bike along the waterfront, discover Gaudí's masterpieces, participate in parkour lessons, tackle a via ferrata adventure in Montserrat, and enjoy paddleboarding along the coast. These activities enrich cultural understanding, enhance physical skills, and promote self-reliance, confidence, and teamwork, preparing our students for future achievements.

Outdoor Classroom Day

Mental Health Awareness Week The Journey of Self-Discovery

Thursday was initially scheduled to be our Outdoor Classroom Day, an exciting opportunity for students to connect with nature and learn in an open environment. However, inclement weather posed a challenge, leading us to consider hosting our picnic indoors. Despite these concerns, we were pleasantly surprised when the weather cleared up, allowing us to move our gathering outdoors. Despite the unexpected turn of events, we were thrilled to finally enjoy our picnic outside after navigating through these challenges. each year group having an extended period of time in the forest,

Throughout the year, we emphasise outdoor learning to stimulate our students' creativity and engagement. By integrating nature into our curriculum, we provide diverse learning experiences that contribute to the overall development of our students. Each year group having an extended period of time in the forest during our special programme, School in the Woods, further enriches this unique outdoor experience.

Mental Health Awareness Week at Mougins School is more than just a series of events; it is a testament to our dedication to the well-being and holistic development of our students. We invite you to join us on this journey of self-discovery and support our efforts to create a nurturing and enriching educational environment.
