London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) tuition is available to our students at Mougins British International School. Considered one of the best drama schools in the world, it was founded in 1861, and has trained many of the great actors we know today, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ruth Wilson…LAMDA at Mougins School will help develop confidence in performance, while offering the chance to work towards an internationally-recognised qualification. A great opportunity for our students!
What is LAMDA?
LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) is the oldest existing theatre school and provides graded exams in the Performing Arts: Acting, Public Speaking, Musical Theatre, Speaking Verse and Prose, Devising Drama, Mime…
These are prestigious exams, recognised internationally. The higher grades ( 6, 7 and 8) can provide additional UCAS points for entry into the British university system. LAMDA exams can also be included in university applications and personal statements as proof of extra-curricular activities, completed to a recognised level of excellence.
Why participate in LAMDA?
LAMDA is the UK’s largest Speech and Drama board and their graded exams offer a nationally recognised qualification in communication and performance. For those preparing for university it is an especially beneficial activity as UCAS points are awarded for earning LAMDA qualifications. A LAMDA Performance Evening is organised prior to each exam session. This enables those entered for the exams to share their work with parents and other students.
LAMDA exam preparation
We are very proud to announce that more than half of the students in the first session received honours with distinction.
The next examination session will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May 2023, but preparation for these examinations will begin in February.
