Primary staff are all busy preparing for the return of the children next week. A huge amount of effort has gone into making the children's learning environments as inspirational as possible and what a creative team of teachers and assistants we have. They are looking forward to seeing those of you who are returning and to integrating the new children.

We are very excited about the new classrooms for Year 6. Although these are over in the science building we are all committed to ensuring that Year 6 are still recognised and respected as the top year group in our department. We will continue to ensure that they are a wonderful example for younger year groups and we will be working with them in the first few weeks to set up our Primary student council led by them.

We are extremely pleased to have some excellent new staff within the department this year.
In the LaunchPad we welcome Miss Abigail Preston.
In Year 2 we welcome Miss Jenna Witcombe
In Year 3 we welcome Miss Zoe Bennett
In Year 4 we welcome Mrs Dulcie Kellner
In Year 5 we welcome Miss Claire MacPherson.
In the music department we welcome Mrs Valentina Deidda

They have all been working hard this week to get to know the school's processes and procedures, their new colleagues and they are all excited to meet your children.

We also have this year two new positions in the Primary department. These are our Key Stage Leads who will make up part of the Primary Leadership Team.
Mrs Carys Coverdale will be the Key stage lead for Years 1, 2 and 3
Miss Claire MacPherson will be the key stage lead for Years 4, 5 and 6
Mrs Patricia Moon, as Primary Deputy will continue to lead and manage The LaunchPad

We are also introducing a new system of collecting children in Years 1 - 6. Parents will be entering through gate 2 and exiting through gate 3. Look out for the parent helpers next week who will be there to explain to you where to go to collect your child.
