Tell us about yourself

Most people know me as the Juice Lady :) I actually have been part of the Mougins School community since 1998!

Born in Boston, USA but my father is from Holland and my mother from Belgium. We moved to the south of France from the US when I was 10 years old. I attended Mougins School from 1998 to 2004.

After graduating from CIV I went to The Hotelschool The Hague in Holland to study hospitality Management. I then moved to London and then to Verbier, Switzerland where I managed a restaurant and a night club.

After 5 years I needed a new challenge so I followed my urge to be an entrepreneur and started my business whilst studying to be a health coach at the same tile. By combining my hospitality experience, background in nutrition and my passion for vintage vehicles, The Juice Box was born in 2016.

Tell us about your greatest achievement

I have a few:

  • Taking the leap to open my own business
  • At 23 years old running a team of 35 employees
  • Restoring my second food truck from scratch when no one believed I would manage because of how old and rusty it was.

What is your steepest learning curve?

Funnily enough... Cooking! It was something I never did before.

I was the boy of the family (coming from a family of 5 girls) so I was the one into trucks, cars, fixing things and the outdoors. The initial idea of The Juice Box was supposed to only be drinks and cakes. But as time went by I received more and more requests for food and I realised I needed to develop that side for the business to move forward.

So I started learning how to cook vegan food when I had almost never cooked a meal before. Thank goodness for the internet and cook books! Now we serve over 250 meals per week and do private catering and brunches.

Mougins School is a great place because…

I met my friends for life here. All of my closest friends that I still see on a weekly basis come from my years at Mougins.

The school has a huge impact on the person I have become today. It is lovely to still see so many teachers that used to teach me when I was a student.

Follow your dreams.. The sky is the limit! Never listen to someone when they say you can't do it.
