The Learning Curve

As we come to the end of the first half term it is good to have a time of reflection about our journey so far.

We have seen a great many changes that have been implemented and the whole school community is clearly very committed to this passion towards continuous improvement for our children.

Primary reflexion

As Mr Wellings pointed out at the very beginning of the year, change can be a messy and bumpy journey. I believe we have all experienced this in one way or another during this first term.
In observing this process of change I feel immensely proud of the staff who have worked hard and with a deep commitment and dedication to ensuring that at all times the children are the centre of all that we do and that during these turbulent times they can feel a sense of security and some normality in their school life. In quoting Carol Buchner who states about children in school, “They may forget what you said but they will never forget how you made them feel.” I watch each day as colleagues move beyond their focus on the bumpy journey and do all they can to make sure that the start of the school journey for our children is filled with fascination, exploration and happiness.

When I think of our children, again I am filled with incredible pride. They have achieved so much this half term. They have all been learning about our new school values and are showing such a good awareness of what they mean and of what they can do to demonstrate them. They have shown resilience when dealing with the new daily structure, the new Thrive sessions and continue to show enthusiasm and enjoyment in their learning process.

My thanks go out to the parents and all our class reps who have been supporting and helping us this term. We hope that you all enjoy your half term break and we look forward to seeing you all back on 2nd November.
