We were once again delighted last month to see our school’s academic results continue to grow and reflect the positive impact that our school has on our students’ progress.
At a time when UK results have returned relatively sharply to pre-pandemic levels, our students at Mougins School continue to secure outstanding achievements. You will see from the infographics below just how successful they have been this year at both IGCSE and A Level.
As ever, there are so many individual stories behind these numbers. There are students who push all year to secure knowledge, skills and understanding with their teachers in class, in additional revision sessions, and with real dedication to their independent learning. Equally, there are students who have thrived in subjects that are relatively new to our school like Psychology, Economics, and Media Studies, as well as in our more traditional academic offerings of Mathematics, Sciences, and the humanities.
One statistic caught my attention in particular this year. Our results are equal to Grammar School outcomes in the UK. Grammar Schools are, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, are highly selective, much sought after, and are regularly placed in the top tier of high performing schools, year on year.
At Mougins British International School, our results are evidence that our students are more than well equipped to meet such competition and truly thrive. Indeed, the list of university destinations this year once again demonstrates how powerfully enabling an MBIS education really is.
This year, as an indication, our students have once more headed off to the best courses, in the most prestigious and ambitious universities in the world:
- King's College London - Sports and Exercise Medical Science
- University College, London - Business
- University of St Andrews - Environmental Earth Sciences
- University of Aix Marseille - Geography and Law
- University of Maastricht - European Studies
- Berklee College of Music - Music, Film and Media Scoring
- University of Iowa - Business Management
- Gobelins l'Ecole de l'Image - Fine Art
- University of Twente - Engineering
- Barcelona International University of Catalonia - Dentistry
These are just a small selection of our students’ destinations and does not take into account the academic scholarships that were also won by our students.
What is more, our IGCSE students have also shown they are more than capable of following in these graduating students’ footsteps. That Tommaso, Ava, Max, and Lea collected over 37 A and A* grades between them is a great indication of achievement across the key stages.
What strikes me most, however, is the range of courses our students go on to study. Our Sixth Form team, in collaboration with our entire teaching staff, do such a superb job of ensuring that, whatever a student's ambition is, be it engineering or fine art, medicine or management, our academic programme here gives our students the springboard from which to truly fly. A well deserved round of applause, then, to them all!
